MP Shri Niranjan Bishi asked about Achievements Under MIDH in the Rajyasabha in Budget session of Parliament.
New Delhi / Bhubaneswar date 22.07.24During the budget session of Parliament, Member of Parliament Shri Niranjan Bishi raised question about the Common Facility Centres under the MSE-CDP scheme. MP Shri Bishi in unstarred question,sought detailed information on the number of Common Facility Centres approved and completed under the MSE-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) scheme, state-wise, including Odisha, and the quantum of funds approved and released under the scheme, year-wise from 2019 to 2024. MP,Shri Bishi also asked in an unstarred question whether the government is aware of the underutilization of funds allocated under the scheme. In response, Minister of State for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, provided a written reply. Sushri Karandlaje in the reply stated that a total of 242 Common Facility Centre projects have been approved, out of which 106 projects have been completed under the MSE-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP). Sushri Karandlaje explain in detailed the funds approved and released under the scheme, stating that from 2019-20, Rs. 227.90 crore was approved, and Rs. 226.33 crore was released. For the year 2024-25 (as of 18.07.2024), Rs. 166.67 crore was approved, and Rs. 33.08 crore was released. The MSE-CDP scheme is demand-driven, meaning that State/UT governments propose need-based fund requirements for projects approved in their respective states. Specifically, for Odisha, 8 Common Facility Centres were approved, with 4 ongoing, 3 completed, and 1 dropped. Shri Niranjan Bishi’s question and Sushri Shobha Karandlaje’s responses highlight the progress and ongoing efforts under the MSE-CDP scheme to support and develop micro and small enterprises across the country.
