Rajya Sabha MP Niranjan Bishi Conferred with Dr. Ambedkar National Award–2025

New Delhi, : In a moment of immense pride for Odisha and the nation, Shri Niranjan Bishi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), has been conferred with the prestigious Dr. Ambedkar National Award–2025 by the Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.The award was presented during the 41st National Conference of Dalit Writers, held at New Delhi, in recognition of Shri Bishi’s commendable literary, social and cultural contributions dedicated to the upliftment of downtrodden, oppressed and depressed sections of society. The citation acknowledges his unwavering commitment to the ideals and mission of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, particularly his lifelong struggle for social justice, equality, dignity and inclusive development.The Akademi, while honouring Shri Niranjan Bishi, expressed strong hope that he would continue to work tirelessly for the eradication of inequality, casteism, conservativeness and the Varna system, and for the empowerment of Dalits, exploited, ignored and marginalised communities, opening a new horizon of Dr. Ambedkar’s transformative vision.The award was conferred under the leadership of Dr. S.P. Sumanakshar, National President, Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, in the presence of eminent writers, intellectuals, social reformers and delegates from across the country.Shri Niranjan Bishi’s recognition at the national level is being hailed as a well-deserved honour for his fearless voice in Parliament, consistent advocacy for social equity, and dedicated service to marginalised communities, especially in Odisha.
