MP Shri Niranjan Bishi’s Remarks on Operation Sindoor

New Delhi : During the Special discussion on India’s Strong, Successful, Decisive “Operations Sindoor” in Response to Terrorist Attack in Pahalgam, today Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shri Niranjan Bishi paid heartfelt tributes to all the martyred soldiers and military personnel who laid down their lives during the operation, as well as to the 26 innocent tourists killed in the terrorist attack, including Prasant Kumar Satpathy from Balasore, Odisha.In addition to that, Shri Bishi extended his sincere appreciation to all members of the Indian Armed Forces — the Army, Navy, and Air Force — for their unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and relentless commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.Shri Bishi highlighted that his party, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), under the leadership of former Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik, extended strong moral support to the Armed Forces by organizing the TIRANGA procession Programme across Odisha, aimed at boosting the morale of soldiers and uniting citizens in a patriotic spirit.Reaffirming India’s democratic values, Shri Bishi stated, “India is the mother of democracy, whereas Pakistan has become the epicentre of terrorism.” Shri Bishi added that Operation Sindoor demonstrated to the world the strength of India’s unity, teamwork, and collective resolve.Shri Bishi further stated that Pakistan has violated multiple historic treaties and agreements, including the Treaty of Amritsar, the Karachi Agreement, the Delhi Agreement, and the Shimla Agreement.Further, Shri Bishi emphasized that Operation Sindoor proved how, despite differences in caste, language, religion, or political affiliation, the people of India stand united in defending their motherland. The operation is a matter of pride for 140 crore Indians and reflects the soul, bravery, courage, unity, and integrity of the nation.In his concluding remarks, Shri Bishi stated that Operation Sindoor should be seen as a ceasefire, not a conclusion, cautioning that hostilities could resume at any time. Shri Bishi urged the Government to strengthen the armed forces by filling all vacant positions on a war footing, noting that a significant number of posts remain unfilled: In the Indian Army, approximately 7,799 officer vacancies and 108,685 soldier vacancies. In the Indian Navy, Around 1,446 officer vacancies and 12,151 sailor vacancies. In the Indian Air Force, Nearly 572 officer vacancies and 5,217 airman vacancies.Shri Bishi also urged the Government to take decisive steps to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stressing that it is an integral part of India. Shri Bishi concluded by calling for urgent action to ensure the readiness and strength of India’s defense forces in the face of ongoing threats to national security.
